Main Street in Marion, Virginia.  Curious SurfacesMy second photography book, Curious Surfaces, The stories told in the marks we leave behind, is another idea-driven photographic series in book form. This time I show the stories recorded in the fascinating surfaces found on old trains, trucks, machines and buildings. For this project, I created my own "personal emulsion," a complex combination of post-processing steps that bring out the surface detail and make the stories inherent in these surfaces easier to read.
