First Prize, Art at the MarketMy work and booth arrangement won the first prize in the 2D category at Art at the Market in Blacksburg, July 17th. The judges said, "Poetic sensibility is translated through his photography." Thanks to all the helpful passers-by who held the tent poles and racks during the microburst of wind that blew it all apart, and helped us load the car as the rain started. Amazingly, none of the books or prints were damaged in the weather! If you saw a print you wanted, call me at 540 239-2118 to see it again.
Book: Signs of DysfunctionBlank, redacted, broken, rusted, misspelled - dysfunctional signs prominently declare nothing, proclaim nonsense, or subvert the sign-maker's purpose. Only by zeroing in on signs without ostensible meanings can we really see their underlying messages, information our subconscious minds have always gathered beneath our notice.
